I will have a stall at Chromacon next Sunday May 12, with Adam Tan, Henry Christian-Slane, Alex Martin and Nick Blazey. Chromacon is the first illustration and comics festival of its type in New Zealand, and will be held at Aotea centre in Auckland. We will be selling prints, books and original artworks, so please come along if you’re in the area!

Here’s the official site for the event: http://www.chromacon.co.nz/

They have also set up a Pledgeme fundraiser so please check it out if you’d like to support the festival: https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/Crowd/Details/952

Here’s another watercolour study. I haven’t been posting much lately as I’ve been working on a few projects, including a new graphic novel and artwork for Chromacon, an illustration and comics convention coming up on May 12 in Auckland.
I’ve also just started a music blog with my friend Lukas: http://outputmusic.tumblr.com/

Watercolour study. I’ve been practicing with colour again as I doubt I’ll get away with working only in black and white forever.

Here are some shots from our group show Personal Works By.  The exhibition was a big success and we’d like to thank all who attended. Check out Adam, Henry, Maxi, Alex and Nick’s art blogs to see work from the show. Thanks to Artsdiary for the photos.

Now that the show is out of the way I’ll be posting new work in the coming weeks.

We are happy to announce our group exhibition Personal Works By, which opens tomorrow night at 5:30pm, Wednesday 13-17th February. We are hosting it in our shared studio at 323 Queen St, Studio 12a.
The show will feature work by Adam Tan, Alexander Martin, Maxi Quy, Henry Christian-Slane and Nick Blazey. Please come along if you are in the Auckland area!

My graphic novel Apt. 41 is now available to order here:

The book is 42 pages, perfect bound and printed on 130gsm munken polar, while the cover is 300gsm textured card. As this is self-published there will only be a limited amount available, while the first 20 sold will come with an original drawing. So excited to finally get this out there!

Now to get started on work for our next group exhibition which will be held in Auckland on Jan 31st, keep a look out for updates in the coming weeks.

Here’s three more pages from my graphic novel Apt.41.I’ve also done a short interview about the project over at Design Assembly.

My graphic novel is finally done! Here’s some finished pages from the book. I’ll post more pages this week and eventually put up some copies for sale in my store. I’m reasonably happy with the end result. I now realise why illustrators don’t paint entire comics in watercolour very often. It takes a really freaking long time. Hence the final artwork remaining in black and white, which I feel worked out quite well in the end.

Now this project is (almost) out of the way I can get back to individual pieces again and start working towards a group show we’re having in Auckland in January. The exhibition will include work from my friends Henry Christian-Slane, Adam Tan, Alex Martin and Nick Blazey and will be amazing. Anyway thanks for being patient with me!

Here’s the pencils for another page of my book. I’m taking a break from my blog for the next month or so to finish off my graphic novel. Be back soon!

I’ve set up an etsy store for those who have asked about purchasing prints. For now there are four limited edition prints to choose from. Thanks again to everyone for the support!
